The Top Horses To Watch

Messene – The favourite in the Doncaster Mile at this moment. This 6 year old has won 7 straight races. The jockey will be Corey Brown. This horse may be very hard to catch if an early lead is captured. The owner is Team Hawkes. Messene will be running from the 17th barrier.

Weary – This 4 year old will be ridden by Tommy Berry who rode Sacred Falls to victory in the 2013 Doncaster Mile. Many punters believe that this horse is right where it needs to be to pull off a win at Randwick. Weary will be running from the 19th barrier.

Hawkspur – This 5 year old will be ridden by Jimmy Cassidy. The horse has won 7 of the 27 races it has started. Hawkspur is an intelligent horse out of the Chris Wallar stables that should not be counted out in this race. Hawkspur will be running from the 5th barrier.

Sacred Falls – Winner of the 2013 Doncaster Mile will be ridden Saturday by Z Purton. This 4 year old horse cannot be underestimated and could easily be any punters favourite on Saturday. This horse will run from the 4th spot.

El Roca – This 3 year old must stay in the mix down to the end to contend. The jockey for this horse will be none other than Glenn Boss who has been victorious at Randwick 5 times in the last 2 decades. He has ridden a winner 5 of his 16 starts. The most significant challenge for El Roca will come down the last 50 metre stretch. El Roca will run from the 18th barrier.

Royal Descent – This 5 year old has won 4 times in 14 starts. In the last 4 starts this horse has always placed. The jockey will be Nash Rawiller. Many punters believe that Royal Descent could be the top horse to watch in this race. Royal Descent will be running from the 9th barrier.

Toydini – This 4 year old likes a dry track if it is going to compete well. The jockey will be B Shinn. The horse has shown promise and has drawn the 6th barrier.

Final Notes

Chris Wallar has 6 horses running out of a field of 22. Out of those 6 runners 4 of those horses are in serious competition including Sacred Falls, Hawkspur, Royal Descent, and Weary. Although Messene has squeezed into the favorite position this is really anybody’s race. Sacred Falls won last year proving to be a worthy contender this year. Weary is a sprinter that could come out of nowhere.

The Doncaster Mile has long been a difficult race to pick a clear-cut favourite runner. This is one of the most exciting fields for this event in years and will be a sheer pleasure for punters everywhere. Although it may be hard to narrow down a favourite one should certainly expect to see Messene or one of the runners in the Chris Wallar stables to place. Good Punting!
