Sha Tin Racecourse – 130th HKJC Anniversary Cup

The Sha Tin Racecourse is located in the Sha Tin District of Hong Kong. The racecourse was built 37 years ago and opened on October 7, 1978. When this horse racecourse was first designed the seating capacity was 35,000. Today 85,000 screaming horseracing fans can be comfortably placed inside this panoramic park.

The Sha Tin Racecourse is owned and operated by the prestigious Hong Kong Jockey Club. This course is fast becoming one of the more popular thoroughbred horse racecourses in the world. Some of biggest Group 1 races are held in Sha Tin every year. The 1200 metre racecourse is home to outstanding racing events including the Hong Kong Derby and the Queen Elizabeth II Cup.

Over 474 races are run at Sha Tin Racecourse every year. On Saturday January 10th the HKJC 130th Anniversary Cup will be ran in race 4 of the day. It is all part of the 130th Anniversary Day Celebration of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. The prize is 1.5 million. Some of the horses to watch in this race include:
